Civil disability

Disability claims, care allowance and Legge 104, from start to finish.

We help you submit your claim for civil disability recognition, the care allowance and the benefits under Legge 104. We prepare the paperwork, arrange the medical assessment and support you through any appeal.

What we do for you

  • Disability and care-allowance claims
  • Legge 104 and disability recognition
  • Help in case of worsening conditions or appeals

What to bring

  • Reference number (protocollo) of the introductory medical certificate (issued by your doctor)
  • Identity document and tax code (codice fiscale)
  • Recent specialist reports and test results
  • Diagnostic tests: blood tests, X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasounds
  • Hospital discharge letters
  • List of the medicines and treatments you are currently taking

Expected timings

The application must be sent to INPS within 90 days of the date of the medical certificate: after that, your doctor has to issue a new one. That is why it is best to come to us as soon as you have the certificate.

Once the application is sent, INPS calls you for an assessment with the ASL (local health authority) medical board. The timing of the appointment does not depend on us: we'll confirm it at our office.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the application start?

With your doctor, who completes the introductory certificate online and gives you a reference number. With that number, we prepare and send the application to INPS.

Can I apply for disability and Legge 104 at the same time?

Yes. They are two different forms of recognition, but you can apply for both with a single application and they are usually assessed at the same visit.

Does the care allowance depend on income?

No. The care allowance (indennità di accompagnamento) is paid to people with 100% disability who cannot walk unaided or carry out daily activities, whatever their income.

What if the percentage I'm given is too low?

Bring us the assessment report (verbale) straight away: the deadlines for challenging it are tight. We'll look together at whether there are grounds for an appeal or, if your condition has got worse, for a worsening claim (aggravamento).
